It is not Bangkok, or Ko Phi Phi, but Chiang Mai is really the hottest destination when traveling to Thailand. Low cost, peaceful natural scenery, delicious food, unique festivals ... there are many reasons why people cannot miss Chiang Mai in their "bucket list". 



So what are the best places to experience when coming to Chiang Mai?

1. Botanic Garden cactus nursery

This is a very famous cactus nursery in Chiang Mai, with thousands of other cacti and plants here. Most are made of transparent glass, making you feel like you are lost in a miniature plant world.

From the cactus bushes, the small flowers to the glass bridge for a walk ... all bring a sense of peace and cool. To get here, find your way to the village of Namprae (17.5km from Chiang Mai airport). Signs will show you the way. The garden is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm every day.

2. Pha Chor

Pha Chor is formed from an extremely interesting natural phenomenon of the Ping River. Over time, the river changed direction and eroded, creating strange shaped rock formations. People also call this place "a miniature version of the Grand Canyon".

30km south, to Mae Wang National Park, Pha Chor appears as a true Canyon - a large ravine. It is full of huge rocky ranges of up to 30 meters high, interspersed with trees, wild nature. To get here, it takes you about 2 hours drive from Chiang Mai, heading towards Doi Inthanon National Park.

3. Kao Mai Lanna Resort

Resort in Chiang Mai always seems to be in the natural landscape, and Kao Mai Lanna is one of such resorts. It consists of wooden houses covered with green vines, surrounded by luxuriant trees, fresh - this is a perfect choice if you want to immerse yourself in nature.

Kao Mai Lanna is 17.9 km from Dokmai Garden and 18.3 km from Baan Tawai Village. Wat Khua Mung and Chiang Mai Night Zoo are also within 16 mi (25 km), which is very convenient for visitors to visit. The cheapest room here is from over 1 million. The highest is in more than 4 million.

4. Grand Canyon
If in the US there is a famous Grand Canyon, Chiang Mai has a similar wonder. This is considered an indispensable place when you travel to Chiang Mai. Discovered a few years ago, its beautiful and extremely pristine scenery attracts many tourists. They come here to take photos, swim, watch the sunset.

5. Ton Kwen Temple
Ton Kwen Temple is one of the temples that cannot be missed in the dense temple complex in Chiang Mai. Traditional architecture and rich history, especially the sacred, has made Ton Kwen temple become a favorite place for worshipers and foreign tourists.

6. Umong Temple
Having existed for more than 700 years, Umong temple is one of the oldest monuments in Thailand. Around the temple, tropical gardens with green lawns, diverse vegetation such as making the air here more fresh and cool. In addition, there are fish and turtles reared in a large pond in the middle of the garden.

The most special feature is the ancient tunnel here - the place leading to the airport at the foot of Doi Suthep mountain. This is considered one of the most impressive underground structures.

7. Studio Naenna
Located at the foot of Doi Suthep Mountain, this is a quite famous place for fabrics and costumes made from unique fabric materials. Here, you can see how the fabric is made under the hands of artisans, with 100% natural ingredients. Naenna was established in 1988 and is currently on the rise.

8. InClay Studio
This is a pottery workshop located on Suthep road of Chiang Mai. Of course, there is nothing but pottery and some handmade utensils. But all is enough to create an extremely "cool" background for photos, as well as your experience, right?

9. Baan Kang Wat
This is called "a village full of art" of Chiang Mai, because the artists seem to focus all here. You can find art galleries, cafes, galleries, studios ... in general, all the artistic things here, even a Yoga class. For the most part, artists highly value traditional Thai handicrafts.

10. Jibberish Homemade Shop
This is a shop selling handmade goods in Chiang Mai, selling everything from clothes, bags, photo frames ... all made by hand. The shop has the main color of white and blue, the layout is extremely attractive, not unlike the image on a magazine. Coming here, you can freely shop and take photos.
